This program is designed for candidates who wish to obtain knowledge, skills and expertise in Software Engineering theories and able to apply them to produce high quality software and to propose new or improved software engineering techniques, methods and tools. Program will train graduate to produce creative ideas and critical thinking to advance knowledge and share them with other researchers, academicians and industry. Objective
Type of Program There are two types of programs: Mainstream Program (Program Perdana) and Part-Time Program. These programs are usually conducted at UTM Skudai campus.
Mode of Study The program is a research program supported by a guided component to help students obtain a good grounding before embarking on their research.
Locations and Language This program will be conducted at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Systems, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai. English language will be the medium used during teaching & learning activities.
Entry Requirement Degree in Computer Science from UTM or equivalent with at least CPA: 3.00 OR Candidates with CPA< 3.00 with at least 2 years working experience in related area
International Student English Requirement: International applicants to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia must satisfy the academic admission and English language proficiency requirement (IELTS band 6 or TEOFL score of 550) and any other specified conditions. Students who do not fulfill English Language proficiency will be required to take an English examination upon registration, failing which, they have to register for English modules offered at the university.
Course Structure All students are required to take 6 credits of Software Engineering core courses, 6 credits of Software Engineering electives and complete a Software Engineering research.
Award Requirements Students may graduate after having successfully completing the 12 credit coursework, a Master level dissertation and the Master viva.
